About the Open Media Project

The Open Media Globe

The Open Media Project (OMP) is collaborative, open-source software development effort between multiple public access stations and community technology centers to free the staff of public access stations and community technology centers from many repetitive tasks. Through the Open Media Project, community members are truly given an opportunity to control and manage their participation at the station or center by submitting video content, scheduling that video content for channel playback, reserving equipment and facilities, and interacting with other community members. The web-based, self-service workflow related to OMP shifts common operational duties away from a station or center and onto the community using the resources.
